| The ground orchids ‘Pecteilis sp.’ have great potentials for development to commercial scale. This orchid group rest in dry season and flowering in rainy season, less taking care; so, it can be developed to pot plant similar to tulip. This research aims to develop new Thai orchid product for commercial scale by research and development. This work was done at Sisaket Horticulture Research Center during 2006-2011. It was collection of, the orchids ‘Pecteilis sp.’ from natural in north-east Thailand and market, 810 orchid plants included 500 plants of Pecteilis sagarikii and 310 plants of Pecteilis susannae. Moreover, four good parent lines were selected, and a pair of intergeneric hybrid between Pcteilis x Habenaria was bred for commercial scale. |
